A GEORGE I SILVER LIDDED TANKARD
by Anthony Nelme, London 1715, of gently tapering cylindrical form with an applied reeded girdle and moulded foot, engraved to the front with a coat of arms and a crest, the hinged domed cover with a scroll-form thumbpiece, the S-scroll handle with a heart-shaped terminal and engraved R*P. 17cm high, 22.7 troy ounces
The marks are legible, and the cover is partially marked. The hinged cover opens and closes well. The tankard stands well and does not wobble. It is in generally good condition with age-related surface wear.
