Pre-Columbian, northern Mexico, Casas Grandes, ca. 1000 to 1400 CE. An adorable terracotta vessel in the form of a turtle with a domed shell and swollen underside as he spreads his 4 nubbin legs and extends his head with a tapered tail protruding from his posterior. Size: 7" L x 5" W x 4" H (17.8 cm x 12.7 cm x 10.2 cm)

Condition
Professionally repaired with restoration over break lines, all cone very well and difficult to notice. Light surface wear as shown, but otherwise, very nice presentation. Remains of old collection label on underside of base.
