A second edition presentation copy of "The Best of Flair", edited by Fleur Cowles. New York: Rizzoli International Publications, 1999. 337 pages. Signed and inscribed on designated presentation page to "President and Mrs. Reagan/ with a heart full of love/ Fleur Cowles." Sporting a bookplate from the Reagan's personal library on the inside front cover. The multi-media art book features dynamic, full color facsimile covers within, representing each issue of the magazine's year-long run. Exhibits scattered soiling to slipcase, with light bumping to book's dust jacket and corners. Very good to near fine overall. Housed in a protective slipcase to the overall size of 11" x 14.25" x 2".

Fleur Cowles (1908-2009) was an American writer, editor and artist best known as the creative force behind the short-lived "Flair" magazine. The publication was celebrated not only because of its design and editorial production, but also because of its lavish production cost. The latter ultimately had the biggest impact on the magazine's decline, caused in part by the cost of its novelty cover cutouts.
