Description
**Originally Listed At $250**
Post-Conquest, Peru, Inca, ca. 15th to 16th century CE. A wonderful ensemble of tupus, 5 bronze and 1 copper, all of varying forms and sizes. The one made of copper displays a broader, flattened area at its suspension hole. The remaining 5 of copper, however, present fanned, conical, and hooked shapes. The tupu is an ancient Andean version of a brooch or shawl pin. These are still used today to fasten lliqlla, a shawl pinned at the front; pre-Columbian people presumably wore something very similar. Size of largest (hook on end): 13.2" L x 0.3" W (33.5 cm x 0.8 cm)
