Rare signed copy of ARTHUR SEYSS-INQUART's 'Proclamation of the Fuhrer to the German People,' given 22 June 1941, Hitler's explanation of the Declaration of War on the Soviet Union, released on the morning of the invasion of the Soviet Union. Seyss-Inquart put signed his name in red grease pencil at the top of the front cover page. The pamphlet is titled in full 'Proclamation of the Fuhrer to the German People and Note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Soviet Government with attachments,' softcover, 6 x 8 inches, staple bound, 94 pp., in Dutch. The copy contains Hitler's address to the German people and the diplomatic note presented by German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop to Soviet ambassador Vladimir Dekanozov in Berlin on 22 June 1941 at 4 a.m. local time, informing him about the German invasion of the Soviet Union. ARTHUR SEYSS-INQUART (1892-1946) was deputy governor to Hans Frank and Reich Commissioner for occupied Netherlands, responsible for the deportation of Jews. Sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials.
