Description
A YELLOW-GLAZED VESSEL AND COVER, FU
Guangxu six-character mark and of the period
Moulded in imitation of an archaic bronze ritual vessel, of rectangular form, the sides with moulded triangular archaistic decoration below ruyi and key-fret bands, the sides flanked by loop handles emerging from an animal-head, all supported by four bracket feet, the cover with a chilong grasping a lingzhi branch to one side and inscription to the other.
24cm (9 1/2in) wide across the handles (2).

Condition
General signs of rubbing and wear and minor firing imperfections. Some glaze imperfections and firing cracks. Areas of restoration including the handles and the feet. Overspraying to part of the vessel interior, the interior rim and some further smaller areas.
