ATTRIBUTED TO WILLIAM HALLETT, CIRCA 1730-40
Details
The square padded back and seat upholstered in early 18th century French gros-point and petit-point needlework depicting figures, 'à la Turque', foliage and fauna on a yellow ground, on four cabriole legs headed by shells and gadrooned ears on ring turned claw-and-ball feet inset with castors

Provenance
Possibly supplied to Thomas Vernon, Esq., M.P. (1724-71) for Hanbury Hall, Worcestershire, by Thomas Bowater Vernon (1832-1859) or Sir Harry Foley Vernon 1st Baronet (1834-1920).
Acquired by Walter Samuel, 2nd Viscount Bearsted, M.C. (d. 1948), Upton House, Warwickshire before 1936,
thence by descent, until sold,
