After Marignan, he was declared Duke of Milan. In 1519, he thought of becoming emperor, but Charles V was elected. He brought Leonardo da Vinci to court. He had castles built or refurbished: Chambord, Blois, Fontainebleau. He imposed French as the official language and introduced civil status.Rare and fine letter dated March. 26 1538 to his advisor Gian Giacomo Trivulzio. He asks him to ensure that the Pope appoints Franois d'Acigne to the Abbey of Saint-MahŽ. (most probably signed by his secretary)
