Ash, Rev. T. E. (compiler.) THE PLAGUE OF 1871. Buenos Aires" Printed at the Standard Office, [1871.] 4to, stitched. 32 pp. ************ A report on the outbreak of Yellow Fever which crippled the population of Buenos Aires in 1871. Over 13,000 people died in the city of Buenos Aires alone, compared to an average annual death rate was 4,500 per year. The present contains a contemporary history of the event, and it also includes an official mortality list and other statistics; the works ends with the "English Death Toll" on the final page. Authored by the Chaplain of the British Legation in Buenos Aires. The present is untrimmed and as-issued. COPAC locates only two copies (Wellcome, and Lambeth Palace.) Scarce.

Condition

Vertical bend as once folded, first and final leaf with some soiling, otherwise clean.
