From 1965 to 1974 he lives in Rio de Janeiro and spends time in London and Paris, a city where he returns in the last year and settles for more than three years. In 1977, he returns to live in Rio de Janeiro. His work gained repercussions and, in the 1980s, he was part of the main art exhibitions in the country. The artist's production, concentrated in his last seven years of life, is dedicated above all to painting, which calls attention to its vigor and intricate references that make modern and contemporary artistic movements. Jorge Guinle is an important promoter of the revaluation of painting promoted by a group of young artists known as Geração 80. He participates in the show Como Vai Você, Ger at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage - EAV/Parque Lage, Rio de Janeiro, 1984, writes a text for a special edition of the magazine Module dedicated to this show, participates in various exhibitions and events held by these artists and writes about their works.
