Description: Comprises 26 letters, handwritten or typed, in original envelopes with stamps and cancellations present, plus 26 postcards with handwritten messages or partially printed notifications, with printed postage and cancellations.Fascinating archive revealing much about the latter stages of the frontier west, primarily Brown's Opera House in Purcell, Indian Territory and into Oklahoma statehood, which the brothers owned and operated during much of the period covered. The correspondences began when W.E. Brown was in Louisiana, but by 1890 he had relocated to Purcell, Indian Territory, along with his brother. There were several other stops along the way. One of the brothers was involved in zinc and tin mining as well, and there are letters with business letterheads and correspondence about ordering tin machines, postcards regarding stock purchases, real estate speculation, etc. A few of the postcards advertise upcoming performances at the opera house.

Normal soiling and wear as can be expected, overall very good.
