Description: Single sheet, printed on recto only. 31x22.5 cm (12¼x8¾"). February 20, 1854.Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna decrees that "a Presidio shall be established in the Port of La Paz, territory of Baja California". When the Presidio is completed, prisoners from the states of Chihuahua, Sonora, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Guerrero, Durango, Zacatecas and Colima will be sent to it. Marginal ink note in an early hand, "Establecimiento de Presidio." We can find no copies of the broadside listed in OCLC.
Condition
Light stains and some chipping in margins, other minor wear, very good.
