Unusual map of Maine from a very scarce 1882 edition of Cram's Unrivaled Family Atlas of the World. An unknown (to Phillips) first edition published in 1882 (the first Phillips listing is 1883). Most of the U.S. state maps in the 1882 atlas are entirely different from the 1883 edition maps. This early Maine map shows borders in yellow and rose, which is different from succeeding Cram maps of Maine where the borders are in green and rose. A very nice map with a small stain in the bottom margin (won’t show when matted). 9 x 11.5
