SIGNED COPY Book Description: NY: Simon & Schuster, 1960. Hardcover. Cited in Roth 101, pp. 158-159; Hasselblad pp. 186-7. SIGNED by Irving Penn and dated 1962 (early signature) on the fep to British film director Robert Bolt: best known for the play A Man for All Seasons, screenplays for Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Doctor Zhivago and A Man for All Seasons (winning Oscars for the last 2); as well as later screenplays for The Mission and The Bounty. SIGNED by Penn to Bolt in 1962 (the same year as Lawernce of Arabia was released). BOOK CONDITION: Very Good Plus (VG+);a tight, clean copy with a touch of foxing to fep and half title; in a Fine dust jacket with a hint of soiling and foxing along front/rear joint and spine in a Near Fine slipcase showing light overall rubbing, soiling and wear to edges and corners. A highly collectible SIGNED ASSOCIATION COPY of Penn's masterpiece.
