Fine presentation piece, a bronze honor plaque, 7 in. dia., made to commemorate U-boat Commander Walther Schwieger, best remembered as the man who sank the British passenger liner, RMS Lusitania with a total of 1,199 lives lost. The plaque is split into four sections, each bearing different imagery in high relief, including: the U-20, Lusitania, a map of Bordeaux, and an unknown image, though captioned ‘Le Havre’. An Iron Cross is at the center. Unmarked. The bronze finish has worn away slightly in some areas, else very good.
