Captioned in red ‘Amtliches Organ Der NSDAP Und Samtlicher Staats-Und Gemeindenbehorden’ (‘Official Organ of the NSDAP and all state and local authorities’). At the center is a quality black national eagle and swastika, displaying nice detail on the oak wreath. The eagle is superimposed over a red and white landscape showing hillside vineyards, the Main River, and a castle. White gothic text at the bottom reads: ‘Die fuhrende Heimatzeitung’ (‘The leading local newspaper’). This slightly convex and enameled sign bears mounting holes at the corners and displays notable loss to the right corners. Threaded through the top two holes is a string for suspension.
