Description
A World War II era Officer's visor cap, constructed of lightweight khaki fabric, a brown leather visor and chin strap secured by two gilded brass buttons on either side, and a golden American seal affixed at the center. This cap was initially produced in the 'crusher' style but a wire has been sewn in to give it the visor look. The interior bears a very fine brown leather sweatband, a tag beneath indicating the size as '7'. At the center is a rectangular celluloid sweat shield bearing the maker's mark for 'Bancroft Uniform Headwear'. A trivial hole to the crown at the back and light soiling to the side band, overall very good.
