Description
A World War II era Officer's visor cap, constructed of OD green wool, a black leather visor and chin strap secured by two gilded brass buttons on either side, and a golden American seal affixed at the center. Situated above the seal is a 'USWV' hat badge, an abbreviation for 'United Spanish War Veterans', a badge granted to veterans of the Spanish-American War. The brown leather sweatband shows a bit of wear around the edge, especially towards the front. Stapled to the band is a faded tag indicating the maker as Uniform Cap Co. The interior also bears a diamond celluloid sweat shield. A few minor areas of patina on the brass seal and buttons, else very good.
