Description
(1885-1977) Major General in the Wehrmacht, distinguishing himself during World War I for his counterattack during the battle of Okna, for which he was awarded a Knight’s Cross of the Military Order of Maria Theresa. Also as Colonel in World War II, serving the Fuhrerreserve. Partly-printed war-date D.S. ‘Barton’ 1p. 8vo., Sept. 1, 1942, awarding Corporal Ludwig Lipps the War Merit Cross, Second Class with Swords. Central fold and slight offsetting and wrinkling, otherwise very good. WITH: a second document awarding Lipps the Wound Badge, 1940.
