Chinese Qing Dynasty Carved Fragrance Agarwood Four Armed Buddha Avalokiteshvara Statue. This statue of Buddha potted in a Peaceful face, smiling, beautiful and youthful, giving peaceful appearance. Adorned with flowing silks of various garments and jewel ornaments, crown and tiara. Buddha is shown Avalokiteshvara is seated in a meditation posture with leg crossing, with his hands in different gestures and holding different symbols. His many arms and heads represent his ability to save all living beings and lead them to enlightenment. His first two hands pressed together at his heart symbolize respect for his Spiritual Guide, and hold a jewel symbolizing his own enlightenment. His second left hand holds a white lotus flower, symbolizing his complete purity of body, speech, and mind; and his second right hand holds a crystal mala, symbolizing that he can free all living beings from samsara. Symbolic of the Buddha's entry into a state of profound meditation upon a lotus blossom throne position on a double lotus throne. The agarwood is rich in color with a continuous smooth texture which is present throughout. Aloes wood, also referred to ChenXiang or agarwood, diffuses a distinctive fragrance and hence it is highly treasured, especially in China, Japan, and Tibet. Made in The Years Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
