John F. Kennedy autographed typed letter (TLS) on Senate letterhead, sent from Washington, D.C., dated May 19, 1954. The letter was sent to M.L. Ingraham in Worcester, MA. Kennedy sends the letter thanking Ingraham for in-part , "Thank you for your communication urging my opposition to S. 3263 to repeal Public Law 199 concerning parcel post."
Signed in bold black ink. Overall in excellent condition with only a slight touch of age and toning.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), often referred to as JFK, was an American politician who served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. He was the youngest person elected president. Kennedy served at the height of the Cold War, and the majority of his foreign policy concerned relations with the Soviet Union and Cuba. A Democrat, Kennedy represented Massachusetts in both houses of the U.S. Congress prior to his presidency.
