Description
Copper and brass peace flask with original spout. Unmarked
A nice example of the so-called "peace flask," featuring an American Eagle above a cartouche of two joined hands surrounded by 20 stars. A shield reading "US" superimposed above an array of spears, muskets, a bugle, and other arms completes the design.
This particular variation was produced for the U.S. government from 1847 to 1858.
