A vintage French cast bronze sculptur, Fatigue or La Misere, 1972, depicting a reclining female nude figure on rocky base, inscribed, Hommage Cordial a M. Cugat, Rodin, after the original model by Auguste Rodin, French, 1840 to 1917. Signed, A. Rodin, and numbered 2 of 9, on the base. Marked with Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris mark, on the base. Mounted on a black marble stand. Francois Auguste Rene Rodin was a French sculptor generally considered the founder of modern sculpture. He was schooled traditionally and took a craftsman like approach to his work. Rodin possessed a unique ability to model a complex, turbulent, and deeply pocketed surface in clay.
