Description
A cased pair of French percussion pistols by L. Collombert of Aix-les-Bains, circa 1850The barrels octagonal at the breech and the muzzle, otherwise fluted, with a jet black burnished finish, in 11.5 mm calibre. Lightly engraved, colour case hardened percussion locks, a signature inlaid in gold on the lock plates. Ebony half stocks with colour case hardened furniture, the trigger guards only with a jet black, burnished finish and a monogram in two-coloured gold. One pistol with a small repair, the other with a tiny imperfection in the lock bed. Length of each 42 cm.Complete with a case lined in yellowish green velvet, containing extensive accessories, including a powder flask, cleaning rod, ramrod and bullet mould, plus many more. A gold-embossed manufacturer's mark in the lid. Dimensions of the case 47 x 28 x 8 cm.Condition: II
