A German blackened cuirassier's helmet, circa 1620The heavily ridged skull forged in one piece, the iron plume socket riveted at the nape. The pivoted peak with a turned and roped edge. The pivoted, ridged visor plate with a small, lozenge-shaped mouth opening and breathing holes arranged in rosettes on both sides. The eye openings with a prominently roped flange. The bevor with two hook-and-eye closures. The riveted, tapering gorget and neck guard with a delicately turned and roped edge. Height approx. 36 cm.Condition: II
