Description

A sabre "Wrangel" for army officers with portepee, model number 1693 from the "Field Commander" series by Eickhorn, SolingenNickel-plated blade with early maker's logo on the ricasso. Knuckle-bow hilt with rich oak leaf décor and remnants of the fire gilding. The obverse languet bears an army eagle looking to the left (!) and the reverse a blank monogram cartouche. Black plastic grip with wire winding. Black lacquered steel scabbard (rust staines). Officer's portepee. Length 93.5 cm. Presumably an early version of the "Wrangel" model.Condition: II - III
