An antique English sterling silver chatelaine belt hook. Features a central repousse adorned with a grotesque face, and flanked with ornate scrolling botanical elements, having five suspended openwork chains, with fittings that include sewing scissors in a fabric-lined sheath, a thimble with articulated handle, a hinged notepad with a silver repoussé cover, a pencil or pen cover (missing the writing tool), and a lidded needle case with a removable cover. Hilliard & Thomason Birmingham 1847 hallmarks stamped to the back of the belt clip. The combined approximate silver weight is 145 grams.
