Early picture box is factory stamped "No. 100 Natural Perch Scale Finish", with legible printing and a clear illustration of the Wiggler, grading near Ex-. The correct early 100 is finished in perch scale with bold red gill marks and hand painted fins, washer hardware, simple screw eye tail hanger, unmarked lip and good glass eyes, shiny Ex-/Ex. Also included is a very rare 1919 catalog, 8 1/2" x 6", four pages, with advertising for The Creek Chub Wiggler, The Baby Chub and The Creek Crab, Patents Pending, VG/VG+ due mostly to wear/separations along the folds and a few bends.

Referred to as "America's pioneering outdoor writer", Sheridan Jones (1881-1958) was certainly one of the most respected and prolific angling writers of his era. Many of the lures offered in this auction, where noted, were personally owned by Jones. Several were given to the esteemed author and outdoor writer for his professional opinion, others as gifts by lure makers vying for his favor. Stated best by author Joseph Hilko in his 2010 book The Life and Legend of Sheridan R. Jones: "Jones' legacy as an educator, naturalist, professional writer and world-class angler is worthy of remembrance today".
