This cupid wears a head band around his hair and his bow is strapped on to him with a tied string. His physique is that of a young boy with subtle muscle tone and soft features, like his cute little nose. The wings have extreme detail they are almost lifelike. This is an extravagant bronze sculpture it is handmade and was casted using the “Lost Wax Method”. It has a brown patina and is signed by the artist A. Moreau. He made his debut at the 1861 Salon in Paris and continued to play an active part in the Salon des Artistes Francais as a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais until 1910.
