This a bronze sculpture of a young boy playing a game consisting of a spool, string and stick. You could consider it an earlier version of the yoyo! This is a very nice statue showing the extension of the Leg and arm which lend action to figure. The young boy has long locks and curls that fall down his back to his shoulder. He is covered by a flowing sheet the wraps around his body. He is engrossed in the popular game of skill and pays no attention to the outside world. The sculpture is very detailed and has a brown patina. It was casted using the “Lost Wax Method” and has the signature Goldscheider on the base of the bronze and has the inscription “LB Diabolo”. The sculpture is mounted on a round black marble base and It is signed Goldscheider.
