China Trade Gilt-Decorated Black Lacquer Tea Caddy, Circa 1850. Of octagonal form with bail carrying handles, decorated overall with figures, pavilions, pagodas and huts in landscapes, raised on paw feet, the cover opening to reveal two pewter tea containers with etched covers and tops. H: 6 in., W: 13.625 in., D: 9.5 in. Provenance: Property from the Collection of Cortlandt and Nancy Knowles Parker, Greenvale Farm Estate and Vineyard, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
