Description
"Mr. W. Ford's Family Record," Vermont Folk Art Marriage, Birth and Death Fraktur, After 1848. Watercolor and ink on paper, divided by columns and surmounted over the first two panels by lollipop lunettes with pairs of hands pointing to "Marriages" and "BIRTHS," the third panel vacant and surmounted by a willow tree superimposed with a banner inscribed "Deaths," with the birth dates 2nd Aug, 1792 for Warren Ford and 2nd July 1797 for Sally French, who were married in 1818, (8.75 x 13.375 inches). Frame: H: 12.875 in., W: 17.5 in., D: .875 in. Warren Ford was born in Jericho, Chittenden, Vermont on August 2, 1792. He registered for military service in 1812, and married Sally French (1797-1858) in 1818. They had three children, Elisha Ford (1819-1855), and twins Philinda and Philura Ford (1824-1887). Warren died November 30, 1866 in Colchester, Chittenden, and was buried in Jericho, Vermont.
