A unique statement jewelry set - a silver "Squash Blossom" necklace and earrings designed by Native artist Helen Chee. Circa late 1950s to early 1960s. Signed on back of the necklace "H. Chee." For the Navajo, the necklace became a symbol of status and wealth. It was often worn by tribal leaders and influential individuals during ceremonial events, making it an emblem of prestige within the community. Helen Chee is a generationally renowned Navajo bead maker family. From a private collection. Dimensions: 16.75" length x 2.5"d (necklace closed) / 1.5" length x .75"d (earrings). In exceptionally good vintage condition.
