Image: 34.5x23 (13½x9"); sheet: 37x25.4 cm (14½x10").View of Yoro Waterfall from the series Rokujuyoshu meisho zue (Famous Places in the Sixty-odd Provinces) by Hiroshige (1797-1858) the last major master of the Ukiyo-e School, and the son of an Edo fire warden. Perhaps a somewhat later impression with the colors just a bit faded, but attractive with particularly excellent shading in the waterfall. Hiroshige did not go on to fulfill his father's post, instead he became one of the most famous ukiyo-e artists ever.

Edge soiling mostly not affecting image, several stains bottom left image; several small holes or paper flaws affecting image, previously tipped with adhesive strip remnants to verso corners; still presents attractively, very good.
