A painter of majestic and realistic landscapes depicting a vanishing wilderness in America, Robert Wood traveled extensively all over the United States in an attempt to capture the magic of the American West. He gained a national reputation for his strongly colored, dramatic paintings. Wood also gave art lessons, and one of his students was Porfirio Salinas.
