This lovely hand made brass rubbing of the Virgin Mary with child has been taken from a facsimile engraving of a memorial plate that was one of three plates that had been part of a commemorative to Marguerite de Scornay, who, as Abbess of Nivelles, had founded the annual mass there. The Abbey, one of the most important in Belgium, had these three plates featured above the altar rail. The original plate of this engraving is the only one that survived the extensive bombing during world war two. The poster is in good, used condition with some creases which can be flatted when framed.
