Description
Canadian. 1938. Coca-Cola's largest porcelain sign was issued in 1938, just months before World War II restrictions halted steel production. This four-colour, three-dimensional porcelain sign has a distinctive raised border. This example was made for the French Canadian market and was intended to be mounted to a building in a highly visible place. Most surviving examples were victims of stone chips and chalky sun fading. It is unusual to find an example such as this one, with rich colour and a virgin gloss. Marked, on left, center and right, lower edge. 48" x 96".
Condition
Excellent overall condition. Virgin colour and gloss. Porcelain losses are minor and restricted to the border.
