Description
American. 1860-1880. These types of lamps were made by Boston & Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, Massachusetts and other manufacturers. The maker of this lamp is unknown. Glass, brass, marble. Ruby cut to colourless urn-form font with rows of ovals and punties. Brass connector with bobeche for hanging prisms. Ruby cut to colourless stem with three rows of ovals and punties, double-stepped marble base with brass accents. #2 early lip chimney, #2 early lip burner. Frosted and colourless engraved Oregon shade with leaves and berries. 16.5”H to top of shade, 27”H to top of collar, 5” shade ring. From the Keith Dill Collection.
Condition
The peg which extends from the bottom of the fount has broken off and is flush with the collar. It has been repaired and the damage is not visible as assembled.
