Second Intermediate Period, Ca. 1700 - 1550 BC .
A steatite scarab amulet depicting a lion with a human head. This scarab may have come from an Avaris-based workshop. Surrounding the main motif, there are other stylised depictions for luck (nefer), protection (sa) and a plant (sut), representing the King of Upper Egypt.
