Description
Red Barn, 1961, pastel on paper, 18 x 24, signed lower right: Harry Worthman, 1961, This quiet, bucolic scene captures the idealistic appeal of farm living, while formally situating a bright red structure in a contrasting sea of greens. Worthman came to Texas from New York City in the late-1930s, when he moved to San Antonio after studying at the Art Students League under George Bridgeman and Frank DuMond, as well as at the National Academy of Design.
