Bond for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad. Issued August 1874, payable by 1889 signed by William Sharon. Canceled on the face of the bond through manuscript writing and crossed out signatures. The V&T railroad was instrumental in getting people and supplies to the Comstock, and getting the bullion from the Comstock to both the Carson City meant and other smelters. The bond features of vignette of a mining scene at center typical of the Nevada state seal. 12 coupons remain at the bottom. Nevada
