Lot of 3. 1) The Cuba Railroad Company. Issued in 1909, punch and cancelled. Signed by William Van Horne as president. Orange border, locomotive vignette. ABN. Sir William Cornelius Van Horne (1843-1915). He began working on railroads in 1857. Visited Cuba in 1900 and he built a 350-mile railroad through eastern provinces. He worked on Cuba Railroad, which opened on Dec. 1, 1902. He went on to build sea transport division in Canada with Vancouver to Hong Kong service starting in 1891. He helped the Canadian Pacific Railway enter into the luxury hotel business. 2) Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway Co. signed by the treasurer but unissued. Punch cancelled with locomotive vignettes. c.1880s. 3) Blue Ridge Traction Co. Issued in 1923, not cancelled. Streetcar vignette.
