Description
Approximately 3,000 produced circa 1861 to 1864. Built on a silver plated spur trigger frame similar to those used on their revolvers with an interesting single shot breech assembly which swivels over for loading. Breech is fit with a manually operated extractor and marked in 3 lines on the left with manufacturer information. Polish blued 3" ribbed octagon barrel with German silver half moon front sight. Grips are smooth 2-piece rosewood. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel retains significant portions of bright original blue, the balance a toned patina. Breech block displays a cleaned gray patina. Frame retains nearly all of its richly toned silver plating. Grips have some mild finish loss. A sliver of loss also present at the top of the left grip. Strong, bright bore with a few cleaned oxidation spots. Crisp mechanics. A nice example of a hard to find Civil War pocket pistol.
