Description
Circa 1862. Desirable 6" blued octagon barrel with 2-line Hartford address and brass pin front sight. 6-shot percussion cylinder rolled with a sharp and legible stagecoach holdup scene. Standard silver plated grip straps and varnished 1-piece walnut grips. Matching numbers observed throughout. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Near excellent for its age. Barrel and cylinder retain the vast majority of their brilliant original factory blue with some wear and toning. Strong traces of case color patterning visible on frame, brighter colors retained on loading lever base. Significant portions of nitre blue displayed on some screw heads. Grip straps likewise retain the majority of its plating, the edges worn to mellow patina brass. Grips have light wear around the base and a few scattered marks. Strong, frosted bore. Crisp mechanics.
