Colonial Rhode Island 1767 charter Book Acts and Laws signed by William Ellery (1727-1820) William Ellery of Rhode Island was a signer of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.The book later signed went to Marie Hustin Whitney (1834-1906)Rhode Island. The Charter book Granted by His Majesty, King Charles II. To The Governor and Company of The English Colony of Rhode-Island and Providence-Plantations, in New-England, in America. Printed and sold by Samuel Hall, Printer to the Honorable General Assembly, 1767. 7 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches x 1 1/4 inch. Original untouched condition. Exceedingly rare 1767 Rhode Island Acts and Laws, one of only 200 copies, printed with the 1663 Royal Charter, and including the extremely scarce 1746 Repeal of the Acts of the General Assembly. 271 pages and 46 index. Total 317 pages with blank pages in back. Seem complete. Nomal wear for age. As is condition. William Ellery of Rhode Island was a strong supporter of the American effort to gain its independence from England. He did this in many ways, but perhaps most significantly by signing the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Ellery was born on December 22, 1727 in Newport, Rhode Island. Ann Marie Austin was born in 1834, in Foster, Providence, Rhode Island, United States, her father, Captain John Austin, was 47 and her mother, Amzy Bennett, was 38. She married Reverend William Olney Sweet on 10 September 1854, in Foster, Providence, Rhode Island, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. She lived in Rhode Island, United States in 1870 and Providence, Providence, Rhode Island, United States in 1880. She died on 11 August 1906, in Warwick, Kent, Rhode Island, United States, at the age of 72.
