This larger format poster is a very scarce commodity and was designed by Erik Nitsche. Nitsche (1908 - 1998) was a Swiss graphic designer. The range of his works covered anything from airplane design to book design.
The lower section of the poster, which is printed in two sections, has separation at the cross folds and a Canadian censor stamp on the lower left.
Sidney Poitier, a renowned screen actor, made his debut as an actor in a crime drama directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz. The plot of the movie revolves around a doctor who is accused of letting a criminal patient die in a hospital located in an urban county. The movie highlights the issue of racism prevalent in the hospital. The character of the violent bigot is played by Richard Widmark, who co-starred alongside Poitier.
