Vintage original 8" x 10″ black-and-white, silver gelatin photos. The first of these promotional items, an art photo, depicting the 3-D showing, has two marginal tears mended with tape on the verso and a few pinholes. The second, the portrait shot, has been trimmed and has an agency sticker on the back.

This movie is considered one of the greatest monster films of all time. Universal returned to the genre again with this film, modernizing the horror film for the post-atomic age of the 1950s. The result was an absolute masterpiece. During a scientific expedition to the Amazon, the Gill Man was discovered and proved popular enough to star in several sequels. To this day, it remains a classic monster icon.
