BOXED MINERS MUSICAL WAGON | Patent 1884, this is an exceedingly rare toy which was sold a decade ago at the Max Berry auction and at that time was considered the only known example, Max had purchased it directly from Louis Hertz. In 2021 the Schroeder collection unearthed the second example that we are aware of, depicts seated man on top of metal chime wagon drawn by cast iron horse, emits chimes as toy is rolled, wooden box with detailed label at end is missing lid, the other example is missing its lid as well coincidentally.
