Hoeschst, huilier-vinaigrier, circa 1770
A Hoechst cruet set, circa 1770
The stand moulded with puce-and-turquoise-edged scrollwork with polychrome flowers and scrollwork and shell handles, painted with puce landscape vignettes on the sides and scattered insects, the top twice pierced three times, the oil and vinegar jugs and covers similarly decorated with vignettes with large figures, the covers with gilt-edged rims, the stand: 24cm across, crowned wheel mark in underglaze-blue to the stand and the oil jug, impressed wheel mark to vinegar jug, incised I (the jugs) and HI (one finial broken off) (5)

Condition
The fruit finial of one of the covers is broken off. There are two tiny spots of flaking to the purple enamel on the edge of the shell on one handle.
