The Coen Brothers remade this Western film in 2010, and it stars Jeff Bridges reprising the John Wayne role. The film stands out in that it is a modernization yet a more authentic telling of the Charles Portis novel. With an excellent supporting cast of Matt Damon, Hailee Steinfeld, and Josh Brolin, it was nominated for ten Academy Awards.
